Today marks the first day of Spring. Forsythia, cherry blossoms, quince and magnolia trees are beautifully blooming throughout Vancouver. In fact, spring like weather arrived early on the West Coast this year and we’ve been soaking the sunshine and beauty in for the past few weeks (sorry East Coast friends).

If there is ever a season for flowers in your home, it’s Spring. The fastest way to lighten up a room, no real “Spring cleaning” required, is to add fresh flowers.
Spring flowers need little help in the way of arranging, most are beautiful just as they are. Growing up, my Mom had the most magnicifient garden. Her passion for and knowledge of growing and cutting flowers is inspiring, and one of her ways of showing love was to lighten our home (and others) with freshly cut flowers. Below I’ve rounded up some seasonal inspiration, from spring to summer and the garden (or, ahem, city sidewalk) blooms to forage and lighten your home with.

And just as the cherry trees fall bare, lilacs with bloom in May.

Finally summer arrives, and with its glory, gorgeous garden roses.
