It’s no secret we adore JCrew. When it comes to a wedding, we love the idea of bridesmaids dressed up in a collection of gowns that flatter them all and make them feel beautiful. Here are a few tips for navigating a sample sale with class (and your sanity in tact):

Know what you are looking for. If this is your first time trying on wedding dresses this may not be the sale for you.

Feel pretty. Do you hair, keep your make-up light (to avoid make up stains on the dresses), wear something easy to slip in and out of and make it an occasion. You might just walk out with your wedding dress after all so make some memories and plan an impromptu brunch with your girlfriends afterwards!

Enjoy the experience with your mom or your trusted maids and save the second showing (your dress fitting) for your full entourage. Bisou’s sample sales are busy and ladies only.

Most importantly – have fun!

When I set out to find my wedding dress I had a few designs in mind but was most excited about the chance to try on so many beautiful dresses. As many brides do, I surprised myself by the variety of styles and sillouttes I loved. As wedding fashion continues to evolve it seems now, more than ever, we are falling in love with a huge variety of sillouttes, fabrics and details. One such designer whose dresses I’m currently loving are Claire Pettibone’s. Enjoy a look back at these gorgeous photos of her 2012 collection as captured by Elizabeth Messia.
