Planning a wedding in early spring can be risky business in Vancouver, but with high risk may  also come high reward. For Nadia and Gavin’s wedding day that meant sunshine and warm weather on a Easter weekend, combine with the most beautiful spring flowers you could imagine. How’s that for our first wedding of 2013?!

We can’t wait to share the details from their day with you soon, but until then here’s look at the inspiration board we designed for their day. A subtle nod to their love story (he was the captain and she was crew when they locked eyes on the Caribbean sea), with classic navy, pops of bright colours and cohesive design elements fitting for one of our favourite city venues, Brix.

When we were little my sister Sarah was in a “beautiful British Columbia” commercial. I think it was the beginning of our love affair with B.C.’s majestic views. Today we’re thrilled that Style Me Pretty has featured Sarah and Dan’s wedding held at North Arm Farm in Pemberton last July. If the world didn’t already realize just how beautiful B.C. is, those that come across this blog post will certainly understand. Thank you to Rebecca Amber Photography for capturing the day so beautifully.

Inspired by the Outstanding in the Field long table dining series, Sarah and Dan’s wedding was a magical and intimate evening filled with great friends and family, spectacular views, amazing farm to table cuisine by Araxi and one heck of a dance party! Held in the Pemberton Valley at North Arm Farm with Mt Currie as their backdrop, it was the ultimate guest experience and memory we were so honoured to be a part of helping them create. Raise your hands if you love sunshine and summer soirees! We were thrilled to see Amber and Darryl’s Rockwater Secret Cove Resort wedding on the Sunshine Coast featured on Style Me Pretty Canada today.

Spread Love Events provided full wedding planning and styling for Amber and Darryl’s Sunshine Coast wedding weekend. From a movie night under an ocean-side marquee to welcome guests on Friday evening, to a poolside cocktail reception and dance party that lasted into the early morning following the wedding day, it was a weekend of celebration, love and family. Thanks to Amber and Darryl for sharing your love with us, Rebecca Amber Photography for capturing the day and the Nouveau Romantics  for the stunning florals. What better way to kick off a chilly Tuesday morning in January than seeing one of our gorgeous couples summer wedding featured on the front page of Style Me Pretty!

Lindsay and Vince’s Whistler wedding was an amazing day filled with family, friends and love – a day we were honoured to be a part of creating. Oh how we love Whistler. The mountains, the lakes, the air. It’s a favourite “local destination” of ours all seasons of the year and, as you’ll see from the images below captured by Robin O’Neill Photography, Edgewater Lodge on Green Lake is beautiful place to host a wedding.

Spending much of their time in Whistler, Lindsay and Vince knew they wanted to bring their family and friends together for a celebration surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and the lake in a place they love most. The vision for the wedding was to create an elegant, natural and intimate affair that enhanced the stunning environment. The colour scheme was inspired by the gorgeous colour of the alpine lake and the wildflowers in the surrounding meadows.  An abundance of lush flowers by Celsia Florist flanked the natural birch altar we created and the harvest reception tables. Each place setting was personalized with custom chevron napkins, hobnail water glasses and place cards individually typed on an old fashioned typewriter by the brides sister. The recycled glass candle votives decorated the tables and added an eclectic touch to this elegant outdoor wedding. And because no great dance party happens in Whistler without them, the evening party kicked off to the sweet sounds of the Hairfarmers. An amazing day of family, friends and love that we were honoured to be a part of – enjoy!
