Spread Love Events

I love brunch. The time between breakfast and lunch where you can serve up something sweet like lemon blueberry pankcakes and decorate the table. Brunch doesn’t need to be fancy, but a few simple details can make it special.

With Mother’s Day around the corner, we teamed up with Celsia Florist and Gucio Photography and set the table at our studio for a simple and elegant  brunch, complete with a garden inspired floral arrangement and a little something for mom.

Growing up our Mother’s Day traditions included an early breakfast in bed adorn with fresh cut flowers from the garden. The older I get, the more I appreciate my Mom.  I hope you feel that way about yours too and that this inspires you to plan something special.

If you follow along with us on instagram you may have noticed an abundance of florals. I’ve been spending time in the shop with the team at Celsia Florist recently, playing with flowers and learning new things. Spring has been good to us and we’ve had an abundance of poppies, peonies, tulips and ranunculus to design with.  Flower heaven for me!

Last Friday Christie stopped by for a visit and captured a picture of this brightly hued and fun arrangement we made. It’s wild, bright and beautifully fragrant. I love Spring!

It’s been quiet on our blog, facebook page and pinterest lately as we’ve been “busy” vacationing. A friends wedding led us to Jamaica and if you follow Spread Love Events on instagram you can see what we’ve seen and it’s been an amazing couple of weeks! How quickly 2012 flew by and what a year it was. Filled with moments like those below – of laughter, joy, excitement, love and passion. We met amazing couples, had the opportunity to plan and style weddings in Whistler, Pemberton, Vancouver and on the Sunshine Coast. In backyards, beachside, at Yacht clubs and an amazing family farm in Ontario. Our team grew to include new friends and talented partners, we learned a lot and our drive and passion for making magic happen in the form of weddings and celebration events continues to grow. We’re so excited for the year ahead and grateful to be living what we love!

Looking back, these 12 words describe what 2012 has been about for us.

People 

We’ve been fortunate to work with amazing couples, their invitation to us to be part of making their day magical is such a privilege.

Relationships

Having the opportunity to work with talented vendors who have become friends, growing our team, and deepening our relationships with our friends and family.

Trust

When a couple invites us to be part of their day, trusts us to envision with them and then bring that vision to life, we are so honored. And the honor never get’s old.

Challenge 

We love a good challenge and no great accomplishment comes without them. Bring it on.

Creativity 

Next to people, this is our favourite part of what we do. Dreaming and creating – painting a picture in our heads and bringing that vision to life. We love that you let us colour outside the lines.

Learning 

Oh there has been lot’s of this, and there always will be. Never stop.

Encouragement 

Family and friends, you have provided us so much encouragement and we thank you for this. You put the wind in our sails and remind us it’s possible.

We’re grateful to be spending the holidays with family and friends this year, enjoying old traditions and making new ones. Todays festivities kick off at Sarah’s home for Christmas Eve dinner and tomorrow we’ll have our first Christmas in my parents new home. Whatever you celebrate we hope you are spending the holidays with those you love, and that the season is filled with joy and laughter.
