Sep07 Fall 2011 Bridal Dress Trunk Shows 2011

If you’re newly engaged and about to begin the search for your perfect dress this might be the weekend for you!  Two of our favorite Vancouver bridal boutiques are hosting trunk shows this coming weekend.

What is a trunk show? A “trunk show” is a special event at which a select designer’s entire line of new dresses is available. The name, “Trunk show”, originated from the way dresses used to be transported to these events—in trunks.  Brides schedule appointments to try on the dresses and in some cases meet with the designer or a representative.

Why we love them? Since most bridal boutiques often only carry a few dresses from a select group of designers, trunk shows allow brides the opportunity to see and try on dresses they might not ordinarily see at that store.

Bisou Bridal will feature the Lazaro Perez Fall 2011 Collection on September 10th and 11th only.

We love Lazaro’s vintage details, hand-beading, and glamorous silhouettes.  Bisou Bridal is located in Vancouver, B.C. To book an appointment contact 604.696.0880 or book online.

Blush Occasions will feature the KENNETH POOL Fall 2011 Collection and Spring 2012 Preview on September 10th and 11th.

Renowned for her AMSALE and CHRISTOS collections, Amsale Aberra is the Creative Director for KENNETH POOL.  We love the ultra feminine grand ball gowns and luxurious fabrics.  Blush Occasions is located in West Vancouver, B.C.  To book an appointment contact Bridal@blushoccasions.com or 604.925.3218

How to attend a Trunk show, Spread Love Style: Book an appointment, gather your mom and maid of honor, slip on an outfit you feel pretty in and nude hanky panky’s, do your hair, and keep your make-up light (to avoid make up stains on the dresses), then make your way to the boutique!  Be sure to try on a variety of styles (it’s not everyday you get to try on a ball gown style!) and allow yourself time to think by planning a lunch or brunch with the ladies after at Cafe Medina in Vancouver or sipping a latte at Crema in West Vancouver.

Tip: A trunk show is not technically a sale and the dresses are not marked as discounted. But, many trunk shows do offer a discount for placing your order on the spot so don’t be shy, ask!
